Education
Dr. Jayashree Aravind began her early education at home, and studied her middle and high school at Bengaluru at Bharatha Matha Vidya Mandir Bengaluru. obtained her bachelor's degree in B-music from College of FIne Arts, Manasa Gangothri University, Mysore, and completed her MA in Kannada at Manasa Gangothri and MPhil at Madras University in 1977-78.
Work
After completing her M Phil on Ramayana Geetharoopaka, authored by Pu Thi Narashimhachar, Dr. Jayashree Aravind commenced her career in the teaching profession as a faculty member at Kaveri First Grade College in Gonikoppal, Kodagu district.
Marital
While instructing in music, she considered that incorporating instrumental teaching would add more significance. Consequently, she introduced Aravind Kiggal to her students as an instrumental teacher. One day, Aravind's mother encountered her by chance, and she was impressed, feeling that she was the perfect match for his Son.

- Smt. Jayashree Aravind, born in T. Narasipura taluk in Talakadu, emerged from a noteworthy lineage. Her parents, Sri Govindaraj Aiyangar and Smt. Ranganayaki, were renowned for their contributions to literature and music.
- She came into the world on April 26, 1955, in the historically significant locale of Talakadu. The choice of her name, Jayashree, appears to be a blessing from her parents, reflecting the desire for perpetual victory (Jaya) and prosperity (Shree).
- Her home served as an early musical school, with her mother, also a literary and musical figure, singing her own compositions and devotional songs. In this environment, her mother became her first teacher, marking the beginning of Jayashree's musical journey within the confines of her home.
Due to family circumstances, she couldn't enroll in a formal school at a young age. Consequently, she absorbed classical music by eavesdropping on classes near her home. At the age of 8, she started performing the song "Kodu bega Divyamathi..." whenever an opportunity arose to showcase her talent in public.
Kala Shree
The 2008-09 Kala Shree award from the Sangeetha-Nruthya Academy was bestowed upon the Government of Karnataka.
Ondooralli
In the year 2010-11, the film "Ondooralli" received the Best Music Direction award for its music direction.
TV Show
She served as the judge in the finale of a television show named "Yedetumbi Haadidenu", Additionally, she showcased her musical work in the "Nanna Haadu Nannadu" segment.
Aryabhata Award
The Aryabhata organization conferred the titles of Sangeetha Shiromani (1995), Sahitya Saraswathi (1996), and Sangeetha Sahitya Ratna (1997).
Bhava Shree
The title "Bhava Shree" was bestowed by the Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishath in 2016, in honor of P. Kalinga Rao.
Abroad
Dr. Jayashree Aravind was felicitated by the Kannada Sangha Toronto Canada in recognition of her contributions to both music and literature.

Achievements of Karnataka Kalashree Dr Jayashree Aravind
Dr Jayashree Aravind's album in 1996 ‘Chellatagara Madappa’ is a milestone in her career. It’s based on the folktale on Malemadheshwara swami and sung by the legendary artist Dr Rajkumar. It had a record breaking amount of sales and everyone’s favourite to this day. This followed by many other albums like ‘Bedagara Nanjundu’, ‘Annadani Bhairava’, ‘Sampannagara Madappa’ all sung by Dr Rajkumar made Jayashree’s music and lyrics reach every single household in Karnataka. She has composed music for famous poets like Kuvempu, Da Ra Bendre, G S Shivarudrappa, G P Rajaratnam, Pu Ti Narasimhachar, Chennaveera Kanavi, Panje Mangeshwar, Anandakanda, Lakshminarayana Bhatt, Palakala Sitarama bhatta, H S Venkateshmurthy etc.
- Smt. Jayashree Aravind's musical accomplishments entails more than 5000 songs in 8 languages ie Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Tulu, Hindi, Sanskrit, Kodava. 3000 songs written by herself. She worked along esteemed theatre artist and film director, National awardee G V Iyer famously known as Kannada Bheesma in the movie Srikrishna Leela in all South Indian languages. She has provided musical direction for various Kannada movies, and her involvement in the film "Onduooralli" earned her the State Award for Best Music Director.
- In the last 50 years, Dr. Jayashree Aravind has significantly contributed to music and literature. Institutions like the Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy has recognized and honored her impeccable service and accomplishments with Karnataka Kalashree award. She has also served as the president of the 17th Geetotsava held in Mumbai in 2020 by Sugamasangeeta parishad.
